What a great few days we had in the IOW and a great big thank you to Tracy for letting us use the house in Bembridge.

WE LOVE IT! We had a lovely walk to the beach in Bembridge where we ate sandwiches filled with local crab caught that morning.
Lunch at The Lifeboat View Cafe
In the afternoon we met Steve Pawsey a friend and colleague of mine who came back for tea. We then went to visit the Courtlands Hotel to see Robin and Geri. (The hotel we stay at with the school and where Steve was staying.) After a visit to Tesco for provisions we had a delightful supper at a wonderful pub called the Crab and Lobster.
On Sunday morning we took a lovely drive to the other end of the island to Alum Bay. Where we took a chair lift to see The Needles (or did we see them Joelle?). Jaimie and Zoe filled up a bottle with the lovely coloured sand. We then drove to the village of Godshill and went to the model village. The girls had great fun climbing about. Karen and I, however were far more interested in getting a lovley cream tea (weightwatchers does not count on the IOW!).
Yesterday after sorting the house out we wandered down the road to the Bembridge Street Market. (This always will remind me of my dear friend Peter)
After that we drove to Cowes and had a very good journey home. Well-done team! Thanks Scaramouche for your company and Zoe for being swish!
Watch this space for the photographs - Scara was the official photographer!
Posted by laura at May 31, 2005 03:05 PMGood idea to link to a load of websites from your hotel in Beckton. Makes it look very authentic. No pictures of Scaramouche? Was she even with you? Playing "make believe" can be fun!

Posted by: Tits at June 1, 2005 08:49 AMLaura, I'm so glad we picked up those postcards of Bembridge when we were at the Beckton hotel so that you could scan them in to use on your website. I also have some good ones of the South of France you could use to post on here if you're interested.
