The "Respect Drive" has now been put into action. I don't expect my little people to stand up when a teacher walks in to the room but we have talked about how they greet their parents at the end of the day. They are working hard not to fling their bags on their parents but to carry them themselves (even if it is only to the school gates). From this discussion we decided to make a new year's resolution tree and everyone put their resolution on a leaf (turining over a new leaf). Not only is it a great wall display it is a reminder of our promises!
Good luck Transition let's see what this week brings!
Good idea with the respect thing and the new leaf tree. Let us know how it goes. At our school we have introduced a star gallery, where we nominate children who have behaved exceptionally well or who have helped others without an adult requesting it. Their photo gets put on the gallery and at the end of the month, we draw one of the names out of a hat and they win 2 cinema tickets donated by our local odeon.
