What a wonderful day! We took some of our year 5 and 6 children to Redbridge Sports Centre to participate in the Redbridge Mini Games. There were a variety of different sports to participate in but as we are only a small school, and each player is only allowed to participate in one event, we were limited to entering teams in tag rugby, hockey and indoor athletics.
I obviously went off with the tag team, a squad of 10 players. You have to have a minimum of 3 boys and 3 girls on the pitch at any time. There were 24 teams in 4 different groups. We managed to draw one match and from then on went on to win each match. We played Coppice School in the semi-final and for the first time in our tag playing days reached the final where we beat Churchfields (my old primary school).
All of the players received a medal and the school received a shield.
Well done team. This now means that we are representing the Borough of Redbridge at the London Heathrow Mini Games at Crystal Palace on July 6th.
To round up the day we found out that we had won the “small schools trophy”. So we may need a new trophy cabinet in the school hall.!
Fantastic!! Well done to all the Boys & Girls. You must be really proud of them all.
